Dr. Nicholas J. Aquino
Dr. Aquino grew up in Depew, NY, where he attended St. Mary’s High School. He then obtained his undergraduate degree at the University of Buffalo. He began his medical studies in Italy at the University of Padua before returning home to receive his medical degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine.

Dr. Aquino then went on to become one of the first members to graduate from the combined Medicine-Pediatrics program before co-founding the practice with Dr. Hartrich in Williamsville, at the corner of Maple and Ayer, in 1987.

Dr. William M. Hartrich
Dr. Hartrich grew up in the town of Tonawanda, NY, and attended St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute where he was the class salutatorian. He then spent four years in South Bend, Indiana, obtaining his undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame. Dr. Hartrich graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Pre-Professional Studies. He then moved on to Syracuse, NY, where he received his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical Center. While at SUNY-UMC he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, the national honor medical society.

Dr. Hartrich then returned home to complete his 4 year combined internal medicine-pediatrics residency at the SUNY Buffalo School of medicine. During his final year of his residency, he co-founded our current group in 1987 with Dr. Aquino.

At the beginning of the 1998-1999 season, Dr. Hartrich joined the medical staff of the Buffalo Sabres where he is the team Internist.

Dr. Dawn P. Hrab
Dr. Hrab grew up in Youngstown, NY, where she attended Lewiston Porter High School. She then went on to pursue her undergraduate degree at the Stated University of New York at Buffalo.

Dr. Hrab then attended the SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine, and after obtaining her medical degree, she remained at SUNY Buffalo to complete her residency in the Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics program. During the last 6 months of her residency, Dr. Hrab served as the Chief Resident in Internal Medicine at the Erie County Medical Center.

Dr. Hrab joined Drs. Aquino and Hartrich in private practice in July, 1992.

Dr. Timothy M. Heyden
Dr. Heyden grew up in the town of Tonawanda and also attended St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute. He then attended Canisius College, where he received and undergraduate degree in chemistry. Following this, Dr. Heyden then attended SUNY Upstate Medical College in Syracuse, where he received his medical degree in 1991.

Dr. Heyden then returned home to pursue a residency in Internal Medicine, and was fortunate enough to be allowed to change to a Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics residency during the second half of his second year. Although the respective boards only allowed credit for one year of internal medicine, Dr. Heyden went on to complete his residency in December, 1995. During the last year of residency, Dr. Heyden did serve as the Chief Resident of Internal Medicine at Buffalo General Hospital.
Following completion of residency, Dr. Heyden joined the division of Internal Medicine-Pediatrics at the SUNY Buffalo School of medicine in January of 1996. He served at the Elmwood Health Center in Buffalo, NY, where he had patient care and teaching responsibilities. He served in that role until October, 1998, when he joined the group with Drs. Aquino, Hartrich, and Hrab.

Dr. Eric Thierman
Dr. Eric Thierman grew up in Allegany, NY, where he attended Allegany High School. He then spent the next five years obtaining his undergraduate Pharmacy degree at the State University of New York at Buffalo. Following his undergraduate degree, Dr. Thierman then enrolled in the SUNY Buffalo School of Medicine.

Following his medical degree, Dr. Thierman remained in Buffalo to complete his residency in Combined Internal Medicine-Pediatrics. During that time, Dr. Thierman did his ambulatory care requirements in our office.

Upon completion of residency, Dr. Thierman returned to his roots, and spent 3 years in the Southern tier of New York working with the University Primary Care Group in Olean, NY. He then returned to Buffalo, and joined our group in 2006.

Dr. Nicole Riedy

Dr. Nicole Riedy joined the practice in April of 2012.

She grew up in Pendleton, NY and attended Holy Angels Acadamy for high school.

From there she graduated from Canisius College for her undergraduate studies, and she then went on to study medicine at the Lecom-Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Dr. Riedy, upon completion of medical school, served at the University of Buffalo’s combined Internal Medicine-Pediatric Residency, and she served as the chief resident for the Residency during the 2010-2011 academic year.

Following the completion of her residency, Dr. Riedy then took time off on maternity leave until she finally joined us in April of 2012.

Dr. Sarah Boice

Dr. Sarah Boice is a Western New York native. She received her undergraduate degree in biology at Niagara University. After graduating she participated in research with a focus in immunology at the University of Rochester before attending medical school at the University of Rochester.

Dr. Boice did her residency at University of Buffalo in a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics program. In her final year of residency she served as chief resident.

She joined the practice in August of 2020.
